pathfinders for the Portland Auto
mobile Club and State Automobile
Association of Oregon, came in
Sunday from The Dalles, via Shan
iko, Madras and Redmond, with
their Locomobile, examining the
country with" a view to making a
road map of the Mate. From The
Dalk'H they ran to Shaniko in live
hours, but there they encountered

hours in traveling 13 miles. The
rest of the way was tolerably good
going. From Ilttid the pathfinders
left Monday on the return, by way
of I'rinevillc, Mitchell, PrnltleCity,
Canyon City, Stimptcr, Baker City,
and Pendleton. They have been
gone from Portland since last
Wednesday and expect to return in
about three week from the time of
departure.
The pathfinder machine is equip
ped with two high grade spcedotn
eters of different makes, one at
tached to cither front wheel, and
the distances traveled arc thus as
certained with nccurncy. Follow
ing is the milage shown between
prominent points on the route to
Bend;

A cry pretty wedding was sol
emnized last Suuday afternoon
at the home of Mr. and Mrs
Culver, about 35 miles cost
of Bend, when their daughter
Grace was united in marriage to
Mr. Forrest W. Dunn of South
Bend, lud. Rev. J. Anthody
Mitchell of Bend performed the
ceremony, Miss Mary Frost act
ing as bride's maid and C. W. Fer
guson as best man. After 'the cer
emony dinner was served to the In
vited guests and friends.
The young couple will make
their home on the Baldwin ranch,
of which Mr. Dunn will be super
intendent. Closing out our paint line at cost.
