Two Great Northern trains were swept from the track near the west portal of the tunnel through the Cascades, in Washington, by an avalanche in the great storm oi last week and 88 persons are miss ing thereby. Half as many bodies have been recovered. John Bloss returned Sunday night from the East, where he spent the past five months. He was at his old home in the neighborhood of Scrnnton, Penn., two months, the first visit in 20 years; and uv spent two months in Northern Wis consin. Now he is ready to settle down in Bend.
