Mr. Doonar is vicc.prcsidcnt nnd manager of the Pioneer Telegraph & Telephone Co., and was doing some work on the local exchange. M. 15. Richardson nnd family nnd Charley Kplcy spent Sunday in Bend on their way from Harney valley to Albany, havini; filed on land in the Harney valley. Mr Richardson is a brother of our townsman, G. V. Richardson. The Central Oregon Realty Co reports the sale of lots 3 and 4. block 39 and lot 12, block 30, to Chas. Welstdc of Nam pa, Ida. It will be remembered that Mr. Wei side was in Bend a few weeks ago and bought other lots at that time. Misses Margaret Wiest and Allie Caldwell have each made a very ex cellent collection of flowers which they have pressed, labeled nnd ar ranged in their herbariums. The work was done in connection with their study of botany in the Bend school. Geo. P. Putnam received instruc tions from the Oregonian to attend tne county fair at Prinevillc, in ses sion this week, and write an article for that paper covering development news in Crook county. Accord, ingly. Mr. Putnam left for the county seat on Monday. 7. M. Rice and I'rcd Van Mntrc have been matched for wrestling contest on Friday evening, the 29th. Mr. Rice claims to hold the championship of southern Idaho and Van Matre i n husky young fellow with considerable science on the mat. The admission will be 1 00. That complicated case in which Adam Kotziuau nnd several others claim ownership of the same cow has been appealed to the circuit court nnd is being tried in Prine villc this week. It will be remem bered that Mr. Kntzmnn lost his cac in Justice Merrill's court two weeks ago. Notice to Wood Buyers. From now on, V. P. Downing will haul all the wood I cut. He will deliver wood in town every day if I can keep it cut ahead. I will do all the collecting for the wood and see that all arc treated alike nnd only pay for what wood they get.
