C McPherson, an old pioneer of Crook county after whom Mc Pherson's Hill is named, was in Bend Monday night. He said that in 1865 he tramped through this section, and again in '75 he camped here while driving a band of cattle through the country. This was his first visit to this section in many years and he said the houses were rather confusing. The Cornett Stage Company has ordered two uew covered four-horse stages and as soon as they arrive will put them on the Prineville Bend run. Cornett will put on six-horse stages b.-twecn Sbaniko and Prineville, the change being made necessary because of the in creased amount of mail coming into this section.
