The Bulletin acknowledges a pleasant call from Elmer Wormstttff last Saturday. Mr. Wormstnir, with two brothers and their fami lies, came to the Bend country several weeks ago, and bought land cast of town in section a-t8ia. He says they arc getting along very well with their work, and will have i j more or less crop next season. At present he has 30 acres cleared and about 10 plowed. Remember the "Six cups of Chocolate" in Lara hall on the eve ning of the 15th. There will be "grab bags" with something line in each one of them; and also there will be a postofllce with a love let ter and valentine for each person present. The Whatsoever, under whose auspices this pleasant event will be given, desire that their friends remember them by making little articles for the grab bags, and by writing letters for the postoffice. There are a few chances left on the beautiful fur rug on exhibition in the window of "The Big Store on the Corner" twenty numbers below 50c and only six above $1.00. The rug contains 15 beautiful skins, is 7 feet 6 inches wide and 8 feet 2 inches long, lined throughout. It is a magnificent floor rug and some one is going to get it at a very small cost. Somebody is going to be lucky. The rug will be raffled as soon as all the tickets are sold. Are you going to be the lucky one to carry it home? It Is not enough that I'srm and Fireside ha stood In the front rank of farm papers for the Istt thirty years, it is not eiioujjlt that ft lias barred all questionable advertisements from Its columns anil guarantee every advertisement It accepts; l'srm and I'ireside has got to do more than that, and It Is Kolno to do a lot more than til!; It Is koIiik to Klve to the farmer and hi family the very best of practical and helpful material that money can buy. If It Is about nothing more important than a post driver, It's solng to be told by a man who can make a post driver better than tin can do any one other IIiIiik. we are going to carry this utility idea through the whole farm and into the kitchen door, wlictc the fanner's wife needs labor-saving helps and practical suggestion just as much as the men folks. Around this practical working proposition, carried out on a totally new plane, we shall forge material of Interest and entertainment, which farm papers heretofore have put Into the "can't afford" class, I'arm and I'ireside has twelve to fifteen departments covering every phase of farm and home life. Among them are Live Stock and Dairy, Gardening, Poultry, 1'rult Growing, Cooklng.tl'ashlons, Voung I'cople, etc. It print o to i page each Issue, We can afford the best, simply because we believe the farmer will pay for the best, now that we have demonstrated our ability to give it to him. You will find l'arui and I'ireside better than It has ever been thought possible to make a farm and family paper.
