Hugh O'Kanc reports that fully
2000 acres of new Und will be cut

tending from Redmond to a point
six miles north. Messrs. Hall and
Allen, two new comers, will each

arc only two of many.
Charles Oakcs was a business
visitor in Bend Wednesday from
Redmond. Mr. Oakcs is a recent
comer to these parts from Freeman,
Wash. He and his brother, W.
II. , have rented the theEhrct place
near Redmond and will farm it.
Later they intend to boy land them
selves. , Mr. Oakcs is very .enthus
iastic over the prospects for a bright
future for this section, and is weir
pleased with bra new home.

before in Bend. His repertoire is
large and consists of both humor
ous and serious selections from the
