announces himself a candidate for
the republican nomination to the
ofEceof joint representative from
the Twenty-first Legislative Dis
trict. He is a man that is qualified
in every way to meet successfully,

Three years ago last January Dr.
Coe moved to Bend and bctf an tl
practice of his profession, in which
time he has acquired an acquaint

breadth of Western Crook county,
and commands the respect of every
one who knows him. He has taken
u commendable interest in the pub
lic affairs of Bend and this whole
Kction and is always found stand
.tog firmly behind and supporting
every movement that tends toward

lift of the people. Throughout
it all he has proven himself a man
of sound business judgment; one
who insists on clean living, both
public and private; and one who i
found opposed, in a firm but quiet
way, to all forms of chicanery,
sham and dishonesty. In short, o
man of dignity, sound integrity
and geod judgment.
After eradualins: from the Univ
versity of Missouri in 1902, Dr.
Coe entered the Eclectic Medical
College at Cincinnati. O, and
finished his madictl stndi, grad
sating in 19043s valedictorian of hi
class; During his last year in col
lege he was assistant to L. K
Russell, chief surgeon of the "Big
Four" railroad system. In April.
1904, he left Cincinnati, took post
graduate work at St. Iouis, und
then started to the West, spending
several months traveling througl
Arixona, New Mexico, California
and Oregon. White at Portland he
became interested in this section
and became convinced that it had a
bright future. Consequently lit
