last Friday in Madras, looking after
matters in connection with the rail

to Madras, of which he is one of

engineers going over the proposed
route up Willow Creek from the
Deschutes to Madras, says the Pio

not to file a contest, as his chance
of winning out would be poor.

Miss Wright of Silver Lake, who
drew straws for a timber claim in

was disappointed when she came to
