Z. W. Liudlwrg, a business man
from Portland, came in to Hend
Tuesday and contemplates locating
here. Mr. Liudborg was formerly
of Hcmidji, Minn., and is au
acquaintance . of a number
of Minnesota people living in
Hend and vicinity.
The Rev. Father Hickey left on
the stage Wednesday morning for
his home in Wasco, after spending
some days in Hend working in the
interest of the move that is on foot
for the construction of a Catholic
church here. While here he held
religious services in MuUig's hall.
Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Vandevert
were down from Lava this week
and intended to leave Wednesday
morning for Shauiko to get their
daughter, who has Imjcu attending
the Agricultural College at Cor
vallis. Hut Tuesday they got
word that the daughter will spend
a short time in Portland to see the
exposition before returning home.
She will be accompanied by her
aunt, Mrs. Chandler, wife of Major
15. Chandler, of Port Sinnott, Mont.
Mrs. Chandler will spend the
summer with the Vaudeverts.
