assistants, J. II. Lippencott and Henry
N. Savage, shall be consummated ac

to begin construction of two enormous
irrigation projects in Oregon, ono in
tho Klamath Ihtsln, costing $5,000,000
or more, the other on Malheur river,
costing $2,000,000. Senator Fulton,
met tho engineers, to talk over tho situ
atlon and ascertain Just what is stand
ing in thu way of construction of theso
great works.

ed, notwithstanding it has already
U-en adjudged entirely feasible nnd de
clared to possess many attractive feat

to drain 13 wer Klamath mid Tulo

Klamath lake and to diminish the How
of Link nnd iost rivers by diverting
their watem Into Irrigating canals. All
these waters aro navigable and there
fore cannot !o used for irrigation save
by special act of congress. To removo
this obstacle, Senator Fulton will co
operate with Senator Hard, ot Cali
fornia, nnd endeavor to get tho latter'
bill passed through Itotli houses this
session. He anticipate that no objec
tion will bo raised.
