Attorney, for nbovo nuiin.il niipUcuntH.
The Central Oregon Transporta
tion Company (auto lino) has begun
a suit against Morrow & Kcciian
to enjoin then! from interfering
with the automobile rood where it
crosses their laud a distance of
about ixi miles near Madras,
Morrow & Kcenan stood by and
saw the road built without making
any objection. Now they threaten
to tear it up. It ! sohght to have
them prevented by an injunction
writ. The matter will be presented
before Judge Dradshnw at The
Dalles,
Uncle Hcnjamm Franklin Nich
ols, who made Kalama, Wash,,
his home for a year or two past,
has returned to his old home near
Laidlaw nnd will remain there
hereafter. His granddaughter, Mrs,
Fred Wallace, and her husband,
will also come out from Antelov,
and locate there and develop the
ranch.
Foreman Holdcn of camp No. a,

Now it liki out tlml the Colnin-

out to the O. It. & N. for 7.ooo:
that the twlu really took place early
lait winter wnett the announce
ment of au extension into Central
Oregon was made; that Presi
dent K. It. r,ytle remains m the
official head of the corporation
for three years at $:o,ooo n
year, but the luturo conduct ot tnc
projwrty is entirely in the hands of
lylwitrtl II. Ilnrnuiau as. tnc con
trolling force in the O. It. & N.
The Columbia Southern ystum
embraces 77 miles of track bonded
for $10,000 n mile and the O. K. VV
N. holds the bonds. Or course,
the purchase price must have lxutn
over and above the bonded indebt
edness. The roatl has been, eco
nomically managed and it hns paid
a good return on its capital.
No chaligc in the attitude of the
Columbia Southern toward an ex
tension into Central Oregon is
brought, by this announcement.
It is supposed the roatl will be ex
tended to Cross Keys witliin a
year but any further reach south
ward is regarded as improbable.
Indeed, so well convinced of this
have catiitalists become that the
