at this time, including dwellingx

Preparations are in progress for
many other buildings. About 30.

U. lr. Ilatteu on the last day of
April jritutted n .small plat in French
breakfast and other railihhes on his
tesklence kH at the corner of Tenth
street and Irouwood avenue. Last
Sunday the Batten's had fresh rail
Utiles for dinner and they were as
IMTtty and toothsome as ever grew
anywhere. Ami they grew with
out irrigation, too. Mr. Ratten
had some lettuce and jieus that
were due for the table about this
time but the chipmunks gut them
flrsit. Sweetcorn and iwtatoes are
coming on finely without watering
h. II. McCauii planted .some rad
ish need, with others, in the fir-t
week in May and the family had
radishes for dinner Saturday.
These, h'ovvuver were on the river
bottom at the Cottor place and
benefited froiii the proximity of the
wnter, though there viu 110 .sys
tematic irrigation.
Ohio Unites Assays,
Returns from the specimens of
Cliue buttes rock .sent lor assay by
0. K. Robbins were received f torn
two nssaycrs this week. The Mon
tana Metallurgical Works, of Port
land, found a value of $1.86 to the
ton 1.20 in gold and 66 cents
in silver and A. M. McAfee, of
the Redding, Cul., Assay Office
reports $1.65 per ton in gold and a
trace of silver. Reports from other
assayers are yet to be received. Of
course this is not rich rock but the
hope is that, with this showing near
the surface, depth will bring results
that will well pay for development.
Prospecting is likely soon to be resumed,
