Triplett has caught three foxes
two with one bait that are quite
different from anything ho ever
suw before. They were of large
siae and gray, with long fur of the
finest quality. Two of the foxes
were an iron gray, the other of red
dish gray. The fine, fluffy tails
are nearly six inches in diameter,
supjMirtcd by the very tiniest bone.
Thcho are varieties of fox that arc
very uncommon and their fur is ex
ceptionally beautiful. "Dad" West
says they are what are known as
Cross foxes.

up from Hend to his homestead in
the southern edge of the county
next the Cascade Range reserve,,
was out to Bogue's Willow Ranch
for his mail Monday, for the first
time since going in a month pre
viously, He reported everything
comfortable on his claim. The
first few days it was not so. It was
very stormy and he could get no
shelter that would keep out the
wet. It was slow work nil alone
