A sea Rod dinner was served at the beach on Saturday and other ea- tertalament features were provided by the Marshfield people. Bend was chosen as the place dor next year's meeting. Several very important matters were taken up. One thing which should prove very good was the mat ter of having uniform telephone numbers to call for the fire depart ment in each city. Ia this way a person moving Into a new commun ity would not have to hunt up the number In the directory as be would know that the same number pre- vailed everywhere in the state. Paul Overend read a paper on the Uses of Dynamite which was very interesting. The subject of stand ard threads for horn connections was taken up and favorable action look ing toward legislation along this line was taken. The matter of old buildings which are a fire menace to other structures was also con sidered and legislation will probably be introduced relative to this sub ject. - V The Yamhill county federation of community chibs will meet at Carl- ton for theft July meeting Tuesday evening, July 11.
