The little folks gsve a butterfly drill,

lowed the pageant. "The Highway of
the King." This eras an excellent
production and well given. A boun­
tiful lunch was then the chief at­
traction. and was enjoyed to the lim­
it by all. In the afternoon Mr. Atlor,
Mr. Duncan, Mr. Calavaa and Mr.
Bowlin each gave short talks on

The Dundee high school held the
graduation exercises on Thursday
evening. June 8. at the community
hall. There were four graduates.
Isabelle Allan, Avis Eddena Pauline
Powell, and Gleason Johnson. Miss
Powell gave a splendid essay pn
"Personality,” and Mr. Johnson one
on “ Privileges o f Cltlsenahip.” Mr.
Edwin T. Reed of O. A. C. gave an
excellent address on the "Baal Value
of the Youth of Today." Much charm
was added to the program by a piano
duet by the Misses Woisky and-Atlor,
e cornet solo by David Marr, and a
vocal solo by Mra Babcock of New­
berg. At the eloee of the program

Opal Hess, Lewie Nelson, Helene
Sheldon. Agnes Oroth end Wlnnl-

from the eighth grade. We con­
gratulate all these young people and

The regular meeting of the Yam-
bill federation of community dubs
was held in ths West Chehalem
church Tuesday evening, June IS.
After the meeting was called to or­
der by the president and minutes of
ths previous session read and ap­
proved, roll was called and repre­
sentatives of the federation answer­
ed from Amity, Yamhill, McMinn­
ville, Newberg, Union. Vale, Che­
halem, and Carlton. Following com­
mittee reports, discussion of new
business In the form of a project for
a federation picnic to be held on
Bald Peak was opened by #. U.
Smith. During considerable discus­
sion of this ides. It was brought out
that people in the vicinity of the
proposed spot are willing to furnish
berries and cream and coffee and
that it was the plan to have this
picnic arranged as an opening num­
ber or kickoff to a permanent camp­
ing grounds and suitable observatory
building and telescope. This Is an
excellent location for sueb a pur­
pose and It Is said that about ten
acres will be donated If desired. It
was further stated that it was possi­
ble from this vantage point to see
seventeen counties in Oregon and
held Sunday, June 26. Mr. Dennis
