This amount Includes! f l . - 760,000 to be expended in payment of Interest and m atu rities on bonds, and 12,000,000 to be expended In the construction of forest roads. Of the latter amount the state w ill contrib ute 81,000,000 and the federal gov ernment f2.000.000. Unfinished contracts carried bver from the year 1921 include 121 miles of grading, 120 miles of rock and gravel surfacing and 45 miles of pav ing. It is estimated by Mr. Nunn that it will require approximately $5,590,000 to pay off the retained percentages and other unpaid costs in connection with 1921 contracts. New contracts awarded up to March 15 of this year Include 73 miles of grading, 24 miles of rock and gravel surfacing and 12 miles of pav ing. W ork under these contracts w ill cost approximately $1,023,500, Mr. Nunn said. Painted Floors - . H forms a smooth, hard, non-absorbent surface from which dirt and grime can be easily wiped off. It protects and saves the surface. 1 * W ork to Start Soon Contracts which are now being considered by the highw ay commis sion and which probably w ill be awarded before the end of the year include 150 miles of grading, 300 miles of rock and gravel surfacing and 35 miles of paving. It was said here today that work on the contracts now awarded w ill start as soon as the weather w ill permit, and every effort w ill be made to have the work completed by next fall. It is believed by Mr. N unn and members o f the highway commission that not more than a few of the con tracts awarded up to the present time will be carried over in to the year 1923 . * One of the projects listed is the West Dayton-St. Joe section of the West Side Pacific highway, which is 4.2 miles long. This contract was let in 1921 and w ill be finished this year. ----------- o----------- The many new subscriptions which the Graphic Is patting on are the beet evidepce that this newspaper is alive the community. tf ACME QUALITY FLOOR P A IN T (G ranite) is easy to apply.
