Meyer received a tel egram from California telling of the death of her mother, Mrs. Morris. The Morrises were, former Newberg people. Mra. Eugene Hubbard was hotess to the Parks and Dlllinger families Tuesday evening, the occasion being a sort of family reunion in honor of Mrs. Edell. Mrs. Edell, sister of Mrs. Parks and Mrs. Eugene Hubbard, returned to her home in Olympia. Wash.,, last Wednesday. Mrs. Edell- has been visiting some time with friends and relatives here. The Sunnycrest ladies' club is to meet today (Thursday) at the home of Mrs. Hubbell. The ladies have missed several regular meetings on account of the great amount of sick ness during the past few weeks. Mrs. George Slator returned home from California last Sunday. He is better row and is staying with friends in Newberg. J. Mitchell, who has been in poor health for the last six months, died Monday morning. As he had no relatives here, the neighbors took care of him. He was about 60 years old* and was a bachelor. He had lived in this community about ten years.
