Last W ednesday afternoon the par
ent-teach ers’ association met at the
school house.
Mrs. Morrison pre
pared a splendid program. The first
number w as the state president, Mrs.
H ill of Portland, who gave a splendid
talk on parent and teacher coopera
tion. the care of ch ild ren ’s health,
and the moral life of the child, by
parents and teachers w orking to
gether.
Mrs. McClusky, the Victor
lady, w ith Vlctrola and records, who
played the little folk plays and acted
them out w ith the children helping.
They enjoyed the m usic and play
very much. It m eans so much to the
life and happiness of the children to
have good m usic and plays In the
school room. The business m eeting
w as next In order and the only fea
ture that was not pleasing to the
president was that only a few mem
bers were present.
We should as
parents, cooperate w ith our teachers
and school board to find how our
children are progressing In school.

The beautiful home of Simon San-
derman caught fire from some un
known origin. They a le their dinner
and W ill Sanderman went to the
basem ent to split wood. Simon San-
dermnn went out the kitchen way to
the barn, and Mrs. Sanderman step
ped on the hack porch a few minutes
later and sm elled the fir burning.
W ondering who w as burning fir, she
stepped out and saw the tree ablaze.
She let out a terrible scream which
carried to the neighbors and Mr
Sanderm an, w ho was in the barn.
