Problem 30x3 30x3 £ DUNDEE (Continued from .page four) ment of county libraries in each county of the state, making it more convenient for schools and thoee In terested in standard books to gal them than is now possible through the distribution from the state cap- itol, or from the libraries In the larger cities of the country. It seemed to be th% general opinion of those present that the establishment of such libraries at the present 41 nie was not desirable. On Wednesday about thirty friends of the Dillinger family happened in from Sunnycrest bringing with them a chicken dinner and all that that implies, also a number of beautiful gifts for Miss Jessie Dillinger, whom they expect soon to welcome to Sun ny crest as a bride. The surprise was a complete success and a very enjoyable afternoon spent with nee dle work for the ladies, while the real Dorcas part of the program was turned over to the gentlemen. Dur ing the afternoon the ladles present formed the Sunnycrest ladles’ club, whose growth and activities will be watched with interest by the older Dundee woman’s club. When so much is said these days about the loss of personal property by theft, it is a pleasure to record the opposite experience, especially under conditions which would prove exceptionally favorable for such ac tion. Recently one of the first pur chasers at the one-cent sale, held by a merchant of Newberg. left an um brella in the front part of the store. Some kind person stood it up near the telephone and there It remained all that rainy day. the owner getting It . again the next morning. That same day another umbrella was left for several hours in the same store, until the owner discovered her loss and went after it. Who says an umbrella is public property? Not In Newberg. A very interesting meeting of the Dundee woman’s club was held on Thursday. Miss Du Paul, county nurse, was present and told of her duties in connection with her office. As there has been a more or less vague understanding of the work of the county nurse. Miss Du Paul’s talk was very interesting to the la dies of Dundee. The only criticism' being that it was too short, one lady remarking “ I could have listened to her all the afternoon.” Miss Du Paul also told some of her exper iences of her three years in France. She will always find a hearty wel come in Dundee, and it is hoped that the cooperation in her work will be equally hearty. After the address a social hour was enjoyed.
