the ladies, after which the dancing

same place next Saturday night. A
collection amounting to seven dollars
was taken up. which will be turned
over to the Near East R elief fund

sympathy.

day on Sunday. The pretty custom
is one that always pleases and in this
vicinity, where both tame and wild
flowers are plentiful on the first of
this month, it is very easy to observe

A well attended meeting of the
Parent-Teachers' association was held
at the school bouse on Tuesday. The
chief feature of the program was an
address on "Civic Pride” by Rev. Ta­
bor. Rev. Tabor’s enthusiasm for the
welfare of the community Is an in­
spiration. The importance of Found­
e r s ’ Day was emphasised and plans
for a large attendance from Dundee
at the celebration at Champoeg on
Saturday were made. Any person de­
siring to go please give your name to
either Rev. Tabor or Fred Hutchinson
and arrangements will be made to ac­
commodate you.
Not so bad, not at all so bad as
was expected when the Pacific Aca­
demy baseball team Journeyed out
here apparently to trounce our
grammar school team. It looked like
a shut out for a while, then all at
once our hoys found their batting
eyes. The final score. Pacific Aca­
demy 13 to Sprlngbrook 7.
Last Sunday the Messrs. Heater
and Putman drove to Portland to vis­
it Miss Laura Putman, who under­
went an operation last Friday for
