The primary object o f this bill is to furnish the means to insure the open
ing and maintaining o f a 30 foot channel from Portland to the sea and o f build
ing and establishing port facilities at the City o f Portland sufficient to handle
the foreign and coastwise shipping o f that pork.
The cost o f this improvement will be met by the people living within the
boundries o f the Port o f Portland.
W hen you go to the Polls November second vote 310 YES and give to
the Port o f Portland the pow er to maintain its 30 foot channel to the sea and
to build adequate port facilities to handle all o f the greet products o f the in
terior o f the state,
The passage o f this bill means lower freight rates for the products o f
Oregon in reaching the markets o f the world end a consequent greeter profit to
the producers..
This is the most important and the moat valuable measure that has ever
been put-up to the voters o f the interior portions o f the state.
