Purchasers Protected against
any reduction in prices up to May 1, 1921
Official confirmation of press dis
patcher from Detroit, announcing
that there would be no reduction In
the price of Dodge Brothers Motor
Cars, has been received by McCoy
Bros., the Dodge Brothers dealer la
this city. A telegram from C. W.
Matheson, acting general sales man-
agtr to the local dealer, reads:
“ Dodge Brothers policy has been to
give full value for the price asked.
There will be no reduction in the
present prices of Dodge Brothers
motor cars. Newspaper reports to
the contrary are absolutely untrue.”
•'Dodge Brothers announcement
was no surprise to us,” said Mr. Mc
Coy. “ In fact it Is only a substan
tiation of Dodge Brothers business
principles. At no time have they
ever demanded an excess amount for
their product. As in the past, they
will continue in the future to de
mand a fair return for their efforts.
“ The mere fact that the demand
for Dodge Brothers motor cars Is
still greater than the supply, de
spite the great expansion program
at the factory, has absolutely noth
ing to do with the decision to con
tinue the present prices. In market
ing their car Dodge Brothers have
never made a point of price and will
never sacrifice the quality of their
product to enter price competition.”

W e have the Following telegram From the Chevrolet Motor Company:
- We have no intention of changing the liât prices
established for the season of 1921, but in the event
of any unexpected reduction in labor and material ef
fecting the cost and justifying a lowering of the
list prices of Chevrolet cars prior to May 1, 1921» '
we will refund to every purchaser during that period
the amount of such redufetion.
Signed, CHEVROLET MOTOR CO.
The cars that have lowered their list prices the last few weeks have been using a more or less isfiat-
ed list price which is proved by the fallowing figures. A careful survey of motor-oar prices by the
Motor World, one of the leading journals in the automobile industry, has revealed that the average
increase on al^ cars has been only 37 per cent. This same authority gives the following interest
ing statistics showing the percentage of increase, and the actual money increase, on 18 different
cars, between August 12, 1918, and August 12, 1920. Here is the tabulation:
