Miss Ruth Kane returned M on­
day evening from the Sunday
school convention at Eugene.
Mrs. F. Eves and Mrs. A. J,
Heskett visited Mrs. Alice Haq<
son and daughters Sunday in
Portland.
Tuesday evening is the regular
monthly meeting ot the Advance
Club. There will be a short pro­
gram and refreshments served.
The road work withheadquar-
ters at this place is m oving for­
ward as rapidly as the weather-
permits, and several new families
have located here.
The dew books of the circulat-
ing library have arrived and as
soon as the librarian, Mrs. Jack
Sawyer, gets them indexed they
will be ready- tor circulation.
The friends ot Miss Nellie Craw
are very pleased to learn that
she is back from the hospital in
Portland and will be able t o re­
sume her school duties in the
near future. Rev. McClure has
been teaching in her place for the
past tw o weeks.
Melvin Peters has been confin­
ed t o the house tor the pa4t week
with, a light attack o f scarlet fev­
er. While the premises are quar­
antined the post office will be at
F rost’s store. August Wentz,
o f Portland, Mrs. Peters’ father,
came out Tuesday to look after
the duties of postmaster.
Mrs. Marie Smith journeyed to
Portland last Friday.
Miss Rath Meyer, w ho is at­
t e n d i n g the Behnke-Walker
school in Portland, entpe- out
home for a visit.
The ladies ot the church made

Mr. and Mrs. John Tregilglas
and Tom m y Tregilgas have sold
their farm to S. T. Dixler and
family, recently from North Da­
kota. Mr. Tregilgas and family
have moved to Newberg.

Donald McNamara invited his
little friends to his home on
Monday to Celebrate his 7th
birthday. The children played
games and otherwise enjoyed the
afternoon. Refreshments were
served bv Mrs. McNamara and
Mrs. Fred Yeager.
The basket social at Raybell'
school proved very successful as
the proceeds from the sale o f
baskets were $33.50 and several
interested patrons gave one dol-
lar-each to the library fund, thus
bringing the total to $39.50.
There was a good crow d, con­
sidering the weather.
