The New Year brought a son
to the home of Mr. and Mrs.
George Roberts. The newcomer
arrived on the evening of Janu
ary first.
Roses and marigolds are still
blooming in the Red Hills, and
the last tw o weeks in December

Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Allan have
received tw o letters from their
son, Alfred, who is with the
American Expeditionary Forces
in England. Alex Allan is with
the forces that recently arrived
“ somewhere across the pond.”
The many friends of Gertrude
and M ay Fowler will be glad to
know tha£ their father is mar
ried again and that he has taken
them to his home on a stock ranch
in Eastern Oregon. The ffcw
mother is very kind to the chil
dren and their cup of joy is run
ning over.
The Dundee auxiliary of the
Red Cross is making an effort to
double its ' output o f garments
during the coming tw o months.
With that end in view the ladies
are giving more time to home
knitting and are spending Tues
day afternoons as well as the
whole day on Fridays to work
ing at headquarters. Every
woman in the community is
earnestly requested to help in

milks his cow down on lower
River street, and feeds his chick-
ens on the island. Where he
keeps the rest of his stock we do
not know, but it keeps him pret
