The famous Appian way, called
Begins Vi*rum, “ the queen- of
roads," is at once the oldest and

A complete soil survey o f Yam-
hill county is to be made _ this
summer. A. E. Kocher, o f theU.
S. Bureau o f Soils, and C. V. Ru-
zek, soil specialist o f the O. A. C.,
expect to be busy on this work
until October.
It is planned to make a chemi­
cal and physical analysis o f all
the soils, Classifying the same
and make some recommenda­
tions as to cultural practices. A
complete soil map will be made
which will show all roads and
farm ownership.
