Ferguson, Prescription Druggist PREVENT FLY BREEDING BY CLEANING UP GROUNDS Oregon Agricultural College, Conrallis, April 8 .—A little more encouragement in race suicide offered the fly would go a long w ay tow ard exterminating the breed. Since breeding places are requisite to fly production, they offer the most promising form of attack. This plan also provides tor making the place more at tractive by clearing it of gar bage, filth and litter, which are mostly the birthplace o f the big fly families. In ridding the prem ises o f this refuse the fly race is strangled at the fountain. I f rightly managed this clean ing up process need work no special hardship on anyone. Much o f it may well be done by children under direction o f par ents, schools and civic clubs, which should hire some one to do the heavier tasks and provide prises for the children, who do the best finishing up work. In some places the prizes may be offered for the neatest and most sanitary home premises, and in others for the best kept city block or other district. This would increase the comforts o f living and the sale price as well. Pull directions for carrying out this part of the crusade against the fly are given in the college bulletin “ R o w to Conduct a Fly Campaign,“ prepared by the de partment ot entomology. Other features o f the bulletin dealt with are ridding houses ot flies, con struction and uses o f traps and a list o f dangerous diseases spread by the fly. Pree copies may be had by w riting to R. D. Hetsel, director o f extension for them. Ask for series 2 No. 20, and state how many you want. WOMAN'S RELIEF CORPS NOTES A t the meeting of the W. R. C., March 26, they voted to buy flags for the schools and churches if they will accept them. T w o members were taken. in by transfer and one by initiation. The time o f meetings is 2:30 p. m. sharp. Meetings held every tw o weeks. After the business meeting a short program was given and a “ yellow birthday tea” was given in honor ot those whose birth days occurred in January, Feb ruary and March. A goodly number o f W. R.
