Work on articles for the Christmas box was well started and a discus­ sion of the political measures to be submitted to the voters at the special election next week was held. The next meeting of the circle will be held at Otter- brook, the Greer home, on the second Thursday in November. It is hoped that the fall work will be so well out of the way by that time that all the ladies ol the vicinity will be able to at­ tend, as only a few weeks are left in which to prepare the gift box which the ladies are planning to send to the Boys and Girls Aid Society in Portland.
