In the old frontier days there was
a blunt old judge who had occasion
to fine a lawyer $100 for contempt
of court. After court had adjourned
the lawyer approached the judge
and said, “ Your honor, I want to
aak a great favor of you.**
“ What is it ?n inquired the judge.
“ I have a pressing obligation to
meet. That hundred you took for
that fine waa the money I had to
meet it with. I wiah you would lend
me $100 for a few days."
“ Hi, Mr. Crier," shouted the
