No. 1, was held up three miles north of Ogden, Utah, at 1:90 o'clock Monday morning by three men who clubbed every one offering resistance and robbed 400 passengers la the day coaches of money and Jew elry of the eaUmated value of $500. The robbers drove from Ogden In a buggy, with which they made their escape. They stopped the train by placing railroad torpedoes on the track. When the engineer brought the train to a stop the head brakeman went forward to ascertain the cause of the delay, and was struck over the head with a revolver by one of the robbers. He was then taken at the point of n gun to the express car and compelled to call to the moas anger to open the door, As soon as ths door was opened on® of the bandits crawled In snd commanded the mes senger to open the safe. After rifling the safe the robbers turned their a t tention to the ooacher.
