She was a Christian from child­ hood, but did not indentify her­ self with any church until May, 1903, when she entered the fellowship o f the Baptist church of this place and was a devoted, faithful member until her de­ parture. Her life was brief, but she did not live in vain. As memory recalls the simple faith, the modest humility, the kindly sympathy and the willingness with which she always perform­ ed a service for others, her friends bear testimony to the value o f such a life as hers. The members o f her family and her close friends “ rise up and call her blessed.” The funeral services were held in the Bapist chuuch Friday, March 5th, conducted by the pastor who preached from the text, “ Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord,” and the remains were laid to rest in the ceme­ tery.
