On Thursday evening of last
week an accident occurred in the
family o f J. H. Schoonover who
lives on Chehalem mountain,
which resulted in the death o f
Martin, the seventeen-year-old
son.
He and a younger brother were
handling an old revolver which
had been picked up about the

inflicting a dangerous wound.
On Friday morning he was
placed on the train and taken to
Portland where he was placed in
St. Vincent’s hospital where he
