Too Many Revolvers.
The Other Side Again.
Some men arrested for drunken
ness and disorderly conduct,
while armed w ith revolvers were
let o ff the other day w ith fines o f
$2 each, and their guns were re
turned t o them. The Journal
•hopes the time w ill soon come
when m agistrates and others in
authority w ill take a more seri
ous view o f the danger and evil
o f the promiscous carrying o f re
volvers. N o t a day passes but
the news columns relate murders
o r murderous assaults by irre
sponsible people with revolvers—
jealous husbands, “ love” -crazed
youths, men of all sorts in all
stages o f drunkenness, hobos and
thoughtless boys. Such cases
ruij into the thousands in this
country in the course o f a year,
and in not one case irj a thousand
is a revolver any protection or
does it serve any useful purpose.
