My seat!
Where did she get that hatT
Who aver did
Invent a lady’s lid
LfkstlwtT
Who had the nerve to roll it out
And stretch it more and more,
From centerpiece to rim, until
It spread from shore to shore.
And likewise lifts its summit up,
On birds’ and other wings,
Above the earth until it scrapes
The clouds and other things?
Who added to the wondrous width
O f brim so that the space /
Could easily accommodate
An automobile race?
Say, who done that?
Who built her hat?
Who made it something never seen
On earth or in the sky,
A flat o f wide extended plain,
A mountain towering high?
Cut wider doors for her to get 1 V
Inside o f any p la ce,'
' *
And put the ceiling on the roof
To give her nodding apace.
Push up the clouds to let her stand
Erect upon the ground,
And shove the wide horiaon back P
To let her turn around.
Oh, wierdly witching, w oosyhy*
That flattens out and towers—
,
Who ever saw a thing like that—
A pancake piled with flowers?
A hat contagious—spreading? Yea,
That names the Merry Wid.
And she who fails to catch it should
'Slip out and change her lid.
Gee W hii!
What a wonder woman is!
Xnd my seat!
Where DID she get that hat?

means of a new hat.
Recently a gentleman whose
wife was confined to a sanitari-
nm because o f a severe case of
melancholia, and who the phy-
sicians declared was incurttble,
regained her reason in this way,
says the Millinery Trade Review,
Her husband called to take her
home and observing that'she
was rather shabbily dressed,
started out».with the assistance
of a nurse, to secure a pew hat
and coat, that she might appear
somewhat up to date. The poor
woman was somewhat indiffer
ent as to the appearance of the
coat, but when the hat was
placed upon her head she instinct-
ively glanced at a mirror to see
if her hat was on straight. Sh^
was delighted, and, weeping tears
of joy , flung herself into her has-
band’s arms exclaiming: “ I’m
well again, I’m well again.”
Something in her head “ had
snapped” and she was soon her-
self again The moral of this
case is that many a map’s wife
would be kept.out of the sanita
rium if they would let something
in their wives’ heads “ snap” in
stead o f snapping their pocket-
books when asked fgr money for
a new hat.
