tion when even her friends and
the friends o f the suffrage move­
ment consider it entirely out ot
place and untimely.

on the door merely as a blind,
while they were luring unsuspect­
ing girls to ruin. Any woman

common decency and respect tor
the young oi her sex, ought to
be “ massaged” w ith a board in
the hands o f a competent officer.
There is the man who “ takes
sides” on everything, im portant
o r unimportant, and regardless
oi whether he knows many of
the facts or not. And then there
is the fellow who never “ takes
sides” on anything. The first
one makes lots o f enemies and
he makes lots o f friends. He
gets into all sorts o f trouble.
He “ gets off on the w rong foot'
so often people come to pay little
attention to his opinions. And
ye t be is often a positive iorce in
the community and is not to
be wholly condemned. He often
renders gooff"service. The other
fellow never has enemies camp­
ing on his trail— be doesn’t hdVe
any trail to camp on. He has
lew warm friends. He is sort of
a cipher in men’s clothes. He
smiles pleasantly enough as he
pauses and remarks frequently
on the state o f the weather. He
is beautifully harmless. A tow n
composed o f the first class would
die by suicide; one composed of
the second would be dead by
