The children are still pouring
into the public school and as a
result some must be poured out
again into other quarters. The
enrollment is now between 400
and 425, and steadily on the in
crease. Miss Yauhan and Mrs.
Bradley each have sixtv or more
pupils, some o f which are using
tables in the corners o f the rooms.
Pupils are occupying the front
seats’ w ith no desks in front o f
them with which to work.
Seeing that some measures
must lie taken to relieve the con
gestion, the directors looked
about for another room down in
town, and rented o f W. R. Hard
man the old F air store room,

They expect to secure a supply

Several residents out west o f
town have been endeavoring to
have arrangements made where
by their children can have free
access to the advantages o f this
district. County Superintendent
L . R. Alderman came dow n Tues
day to visit the school and look
over the situation and as a result
it seems very probable that some
twenty-five pupils w ill very soon
lie admitted to the Newberg
school, and plans made to haul
them back and forth. According
to Mr. Alderman this will make
