He has written to Edward Mars- ton, his publisher, that lie hopes to have the MS. ready in May. He thinks it w ill make two volumes o f from 450 to 500 pages and has three long chapters already written. He is arranging his notes from six voluminous notel»ooks, and is also getting his photographs, sketches and maps in shape for reproduction. He adds in conclusion that it will be absolutely impossible for him to entertain lecture oilers for this season at any rate, and he questions if he shall ever lecture again.
