The contract of the oorapany with the secretary of the interior was snly signed a short time ago, and this aetion of the company is taken for the purpose of securing patents from the United States to the State of Oregon, and thereafter from th* atate to the large number of settlers whs have already con tracted for the land. This company spent large sums of money on its traet before its con tract was signed, i t depended on its good faith in the undertaking and succeeded. P reparing for C rops. The stockholder* of the Dee- chutes Reclamation and Irrigation Company held their annual meet ing at Prineville last Saturday. New officer* w*re elected for tho Ra tes are reasonable, too.
