TO THE PUBLIC.
Tlie undersigned desires to an­
nounce to ¡ill those who made land
filings or final proofs before him
after the expiration of Ids com m is­
sion on the 4th day of October, 11*02.
that nrrangments have been made
which will make all such filings
and proofs legal and will insure the
acceptance of the same by the gen­
eral land office. None of these til­
ings or proofs have yet been passed
upon or rejected by the general
land office and none will he reject­
ed if the claimants will follow out
die instructions contained in the
subjoined letter from the Acting
Commissioner. In accordance with
this letter affidavits ready for sig­
nature with full instructions will
he sent as soon as possible to each
claimant by me and all parties re­
ceiving them will confer a favor
upon me as well as benefit them­
selves by prom ptly attending to the
matter upon receiving the blanks.
l'he affidavits may be sworn to be­
fore any person authorized to ad­
minister oaths, such as a notary
public, county clerk, Judge of any
court or a U. S. Commissioner.
Ever since I became aware of the
fact that I had transacted land bus­
iness after the expiration of my
com m ission I have made every
I possible effort to rectify the error
i and save my clients harmless, and
it gives me great pleasure to state
that my efforts have resulted in tin-
