Gilbreath Named to Fort Lewis Command A period of ru m o r and specu lation w as term inated Monday w ith confirm ation by the N inth Service Command o f the fact th at the m ilitary personnel of Camp Abbot would be tra n s ferred to F o rt Lewis, W ashing ton, to become p art of the A rm y Service Forces T raining C enter there. In keeping with the mili tary secrecy that attends all troop movements, exact date of the tra n sfe r was not given. Amplification of t h i s an nouncement was r e c e i v e d W ednesday in a dispatch re leased through the United P ress Association by Col. Max W. Sul livan, com manding officer at F o rt Lewis, who stated th a t his post would include in addition to the engineers, medical and Signal Corps units. “The facilities of F o rt Lewis will be used to train troops in technical duties, both as unit and individual replacem ents for overseas duty,” Colonel Sullivan is reported to have said.
