THE 20th CENTURY
»q
Scientific investigation, supplement
ed by experience, has shown that uri
nary diseases are more prevalent and
destructive to life, health and happi
ness than any other class known to the
medical fraternity. They are not con
fined to the low and degraded portions
of humanity, as many suppose, but are
to be found among tbe pure in heart,
the inuocent, the truly pious and the
wealthy.
Many of them are trausmitted from
parents to children, from generation to
generation. Thousands of people suffer
untold agonies from their ravaging ef
fects, and meet an early and untimely
death, often ignorant of the cause.
Though transmitted innocently, the ef
fects of these diseases are not less ter
rible. It is a sad truth that the inno
cent are often greater sufferers than the
guilty.
Of all the organs of the body few »re
more important or worthy of attention
than those engaged in the urinary func
tions. In perfect health—that great
blessing which so few enjoy—one will
scarcely direct a moment’s thought to
these important organs, and at tbe first
symptoms good advice, such as may be
easily obtained, should be immediately
solicited.
Among the chief and most common
of diseases is S eminal W eakness and
N ervous D ebility , er loss of nerve
power, due to masturbation and venial,
excesses. Thousands of young and mid
die age men suffer with nervous dis
eases and may be ignorant of the causes,
when a little timely advise would make
life’s pathway full of cheer and happi
ness. When the first eymptotns of sem
inal weakness manifest themselves the
Bufferer is noticed to become dull and
morose and is troubled with indiges
tion, though the appetite may remain
good. But the strength vanishes and
the patient grows thin. He becomes
indolent and debilitated, and loss of
memory and all vigor of the sexual or
gans may follow. In time he may fall
into a complete state of impoteney— total
loss of sexual power. Among its terrible
effects may be mentioned weeknees of
the memory, confusion of ideas, nervous
despondency and general weakness. It
needs no mirror; it reflects itself. The
pale face, the sunken eye, the down
cast countenance, the Btooping aged
form—all serve to announce the victim’s
troubles. It seldom kills of itself, but it
opens the gates to other diseases, such
as consumption and diseases of* the
heart. The unfortunate sufferer cannot
sleep. In that intermediate state, be
tween life and death, intended for the
recuperation of the miud and body, be
can know no rest, for his dreams are
dark and foreboding, and the constant
drain upon his system robs it of its
vital fluid.
This affliction may be the consequence
of eelf-abuse or the result of excesses
in mature years. As “man is but *
bundle of habits,” how essential that
he should be full of sublime thoughts
and pure conceptions. All of you who
suffer from this disease should lose no
time in consulting Dr. Darrin, for the .
time may come when you will be be
yond the aid of all medical skill.
No matter what you have taken, or
who has failed to cure you, call and see
the doctor, a9 he can permanently,
safely and privately cure in one-half
the time and at one-half the expense
required by others. Consultation is free
aud cures guaranteed by an entirely
new method.
Dr. Darrin makes a specialty of all
diseases of the eye, ear, nose, throat,
catarrh, deafness, bronchitis, la grippe,
consumption, dyspepsia, constipation,
heart, liver and kidney troubles,
He permanently cures all diseases of
the genito urinary organs, in either sex.
All peculiar female troubles are confi
dentially treated, as well as all acute,
chronic, private and nervous diseases of -
whatever nature, if curable. No cases
taken if not.
Dr. Darrin can be consulted free at
his office iu Medford, at Hotel Nash,
until July 28. Office hours, 10 a. m, to
5 p. m. ; evenings, 7 to 8; Sunday 11 a.
in. to 3 p. m. Most cases can be treated
at home after one visit to the doctor’s
office. Inquiries answered; circulars
and question blanks sent free. „11
All
business relations with Dr. Darrin are
strictly confidential. Batteries and
belts furnished, eyes tested free and
glasses fitted at half price.
Dr. Darrin will devote July 1st and 2d
to special work and on these days will
operate on cross eyes, varicocele, hy
drocele, tumors, strictures aud circum
cision. Persons deBiring these opera- •
tions performed must arrange with the
doctor one week in advance of these
dates.
