It’s a Short Road from a cough to consumption. Don’t neglect a cough—take Southern Oregon Pn sbytery. Intended for last week.l The Presbytery of Southern Oregon met in tbe Presbyterian church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The meeting was proceed ed by an elegant lunch served by the ladies of the church in the lecture room. Tee following ministers were in at tendance: Wm. Clyde, J. A. Townsend of Roseburg, C. W. Hays of Grants Pass. Adolph Haberly of Medford, S. H. Jones of Jacksonville, I. G. Knotts of Grants Pass and 8. B. McClelland, of Marehfield The following elders were present: Wilson Bowman of Medford, A. L. Kitchin of Jacksonville, E. E. Gore of Phoenix and H. C. KinDey of Grants Pass. Rev. I. G. Knotts was elected Moder ator, F. G. Strange stated clerk, Adolph Haberly permanent clerk and A. 8. Kitchin temporary clerk. The opening address bv Dr. Townsend was unique and went' to tbe root of the matter. Rev C. W. Haye preached a very enter taining and helpful sermon on Tuesday evening. Commities were appointed to to organize three new churches, if the way is clear. The narrative of the state of religion was full of encouragement The time and place of next meeting were left in the hands ot tbe clerks. Rev. I. G. Knotts in reporting as Sab bath School missionary, presented an excellent map of the presbytery, drawn by himself, including the counties 01 Douglas, Coos, Curry .Jackson, Josephine Lake and Klamath.
