at New Whatcom, Wash., is in trouble
for receiving money when the institu­
tion was insolvent. A few years ago
Grassett was sent to the penitentiary
for forging city warrents while a city
deputy clerk. When he served hie
time aid was given him to redeem him­
self, but he has fallen.
Apricot pits, well dried and in good
condition, are said to be now worth $9 a
ton delivered in San Francisco. There
will probably be 1000 tons or more ex-;
ported this year. It is probable that in
the future these pits will *11 be shelled
before shipment, as the volume ii
greatly reduced.
