The Pajaro valley fruit-growers are frying to form a local marketing asso- liatiou. The cherry crop appears to be “spot- led”—very good iu some districts, very poor in others. It is said that a good deal of rust has ieveloped since the late rains on the frain in San Joaquin county. The Livermore creamery, which was llosed last year by reason of the irought, has started up again and is ioing well. Artesian water has been struck in large quantities in the ludio valley and will be employed in raising very early fruits. - The first carload of barley from this fear’s crop was shipped to San Fran cisco from Tracy, by B. Fabian & com pany on May 16. The beet crop now promises to be very heavy in all parts of California, there will apparently be a long run for ill the factories. Early cherries in Placer county were much injured by the rains. In fact they were injured everywhere in the state where grown. At the last meeting of the San Jose grange reports indicated that there would by a goad crop of most fruits in « most parts of the valley. The walnut-growers’ associations are already receiving bids for the coming crop, which they are duly considering. It is probable that contracts wiU be Mwoa.
