The People’s Party Club of Medford had prepared to entertain the populists of Jackson connty on Washington’s birthday in royal style with a big dinner, big «peaking and fine music; but the main speaker W. C. Edwards of Grants Pass -could not come, and the continued rains with bad roads kept many Jack- eon county populists away. There were about 100 populists in. After devouring a small portion of the fine dinner the good ladies had prepared the crowd gath ered at the opera house where thev lis tened to the excellent music rendered by Paine’s orchestra and to speaking by lra Wakefield, J. W. Wiley and J. 8. McCain for about two hours on “Why I am a Populist.” Lawyer C. P.
