ASHLAND, JACKSON
in tne Wake of A. P. A.-ism.
Father P. Beutgen, for several months
in charge of the Ashland and Klamath
and Lake county Catholics, left this
week for Roseburg. He is succeeded at
this place by Father Edward Donnelly
of Baker City and formerly of St. Pat
rick’s church in Portland. Father Hick
ey of Jacksonville is now resident pastor
at Grants Pass, and Father Croix of Coos
Bay succeeds him as resident pastor at
Jacksonville. Catholicism mut be gain
ing ground in southern Oregon as there
have been three priests placed in charge
of this district within the past few
months, where one has did the work ever
since white men inhabited the valley.
