The Jillson mine has been purchased
by Capt. Roberts ot the Sacramento
Transportation Company. A shaft has
been sunk 230 feet on the property and a
drift lias been made 100 feet from the
shaft. They have not yet found the old

The American Bar mine, below Cot

men working night and day. They are
down sixteen feet and will reach bedrock
at a depth of thirty-five feet. The top
gravel is paying well aud they anticipate
good returns on the bedrock. Work be
gan earlier than usual this year and as a
consequence more ground will be cleaned
up than during any previous season.
Pieces of coarse gold weighing from $5
to $60 have been taken from the mine
during the past week.
Stocker A Parsley, who have a wing
dam extending 75 feet in the Klamath,

supposed to be very rich.
Tbe mines on Barkhouse are all mak
