Mining Items.
There are four arastras at work on upper
Jump-off-Joe, in the neighborhood of the
Hammersley mine, and another will be
ready to start in a few days.
The American Bar mine will close
down for this season as soon as this cot
is cleaned up, which will take about two
weeks longer. The mine is paving well
and a larger force ot men and another
derrick will be put to work next season.
R. Billupps, Humphrvs & Co., on
Barkhonse, are crushing some very rich
ore in their double arastra, and expect
a large clean up. The mine is showing
up better from day to day and bids fair
to be one of the best quartz properties in
the country. Adjoining their mines are
also numerous ledges being worked and
showing up exceedingly well. The camp
¡looks good, and has a large opening for
prospectors.
Anson Gilson and George F. Green
have each sold 20 acres of placer ground
on Galice creek to Ex-senator Cameron.
8. D. and Alex. Swacker are hauling
ore to the Sardine mill from their ledge
1 on Foots creek.
