Professional Cards Death of Mrs. Hauser, Jacksonville, Or., March 22.—Mrs. Mar garet Hauser, a highly-respected pioneer, was found dead at her residence in Jackson- | ville about 9 o’clock this morning. She was . a native of Bavaria, Germany, and canie to ’ the S. U. when quite young. She was married to her first husband, Frank Krause, in Burlington, Iowa. A son was born there and the family came to Jacksonville in May, 1861. Mr. Krause died a few years later. The son, frank Krause, grew to manhood, and his mother married Mr. Hauser. Frank Krause was wellknown as the editor of the Oregon Sentinel. Ten years ago he died, leaving a wife and three children. His widow became the wife of Hon. Tod Cameron, and thev resided across the street from Mrs. Hauser. This morn ing Mrs. Caton, the next-door neighbor, called to see her, and found her sitting in a chair, partly dressed, dead. The lamp was still burning, and it is thought she became ill and.got up to call help, when she was overcome by a sudden stroke of apoplexy. No inquest was deemed necessary. She has been an exemplary member of the Pres byterian church for many years and was loved by all who knew her. She was 71 years old. Her funeral took place Sundav ' afternoon. This will help the Cooks, at Pokegama, and everybody will be glad to see that firm re ceive a proper reward for the immense amount of money they invested in this section. San Francisco papers of the 21st inst. re port that Harry Waite, a spiritualist and trance medium, is wanted in San Jose for swindling a number of people out of large sums of money.
