For the Library Born The entertainment to be given by Chas. Riley McCalley (or the benefit of the public library, an extended notice of which was given last week, will take place at the Scenic next Thursday evening, the 26th, the date given in the Herald having been an error caused by the the temporary menial aberration of the editor. There is no question but this entertainment will be of a high class. Bunch spent last Friday iti the Coquille schools and addressed the Educational League in the after noon. He also spoke io a number of the grade rooms. Mr. Bunch has had long years of successful ex perience in the school business and a visit from him is-an inspiration to both teachers and pupils Miss Vreeland, one of the school nurses connected with the State Board of Health, visited the schools Friday. She made a cursbry exam ination of the children of all the grades, with a more carelul exami nation where there was indication of bad tonsils, adenoids or eve trouble. She found the general health conditions in the Coquille schools very good. Edna Gill has enrolled as a mem ber of the freshman class. A number of teachers went to Riverion Safurday to attend a meeting of the Coquille River Schoolmasters’ Club. In addition to the Coquille and Riverton teach ers, a large delegation from Bandon wa*in attendance. Mrs. Miller, principal of the Riverton schools, and Miss Vreeland of the State Board of Health, addressed the morning meeting, and County Sup erintendent R. E- Baker and Super intendent C. A. Howard of Coquille spoke in the afternoon.
