The
recommendation is made that the
first work be done between the
county line and Myrtle Point; the
next from Bandon to the Curry
county line, and that th< work from
Coquille towards the bay come later.
This is in consideration of the fact
that the sections to be served by
the two first named stretches of

roads for transportation and are in
greater need of the improvement.
The committee visited the county

Coquille Wins Both Games
Jim Collier was the bright partic
ular star in Sunday’ s games and it
was due principally to this great
player’s work that Coquille walked
off with both games,
From the
time signal to play ball was given

fied and allowed them but one

And lucky he was, fur, had
O’Conner fielded the ball instead of
going to his base, Collier would
have had a no hit game to his credit,
a record which lew pitchers ever
attain. But as it was he showed
the crowd a brand of ball seldom
seen on a bush diamond and also
lined out three hits in tour times up
and one a three bagger.
Coquille’ s team backed Collier up
in faultless style and showed that
they can hit some by drawing in
nine runs

The North Bend Coquille contest
was a hum dinger and a scrap every
inch of the way and at the begining
of the ninth stood two and two.
All through these eight innings the
crowd had cheered and rooted for
their favorites and with the score
tied excitment was at a lever pitch.
Then when Osbuin scored for
North Bend the Benders were crazy
with delight. Coquille came up in
the last half, ready to do or die.
Piper was sale, Howell hit and
"Swede” went to third, Crawford
rolled a slow one down the third
base line and reached first while they
were after Piper who ran back to
third but was called out by Umpire
Goodner. The Coquillers objected
strenously, but nothing doing. The
next man up hit and Howell scored
the tying run and then Tip O’ Neil
won a lot of glory for himself by
connecting for a two bagger and
the game was over. Score; Coquille
